Privacy policy
This policy explains how EQNX processes personal data when you visit its website (eqnx.vc). The EQNX LP Portal (lp.eqnx.vc) has its own privacy policy.
1. Who is responsible
EQNX is the data controller for personal data, as defined by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (General Data Protection Regulation).
The controller is EQNX SAS, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France (RCS Paris 930 880 117).
Data protection contact: investors@eqnx.vc
2. The data we process
The site has no account, and its only form is the newsletter field: you can browse it without giving any personal data.
- Connection data: like any website, our web server records, for each page or file requested, your IP address, the date and time, the address requested and your browser (user agent). This data is used only to run and secure the site.
- Audience measurement: to know how the site is read, our server counts each page served, without any cookie and without identifying you. For each page view it records the page, the date and time, the language, the website or campaign you came from (its address only, such as linkedin.com), your country, derived by our server from your IP address, which is then discarded, and the time the page stayed visible on your screen, sent by the page itself when you leave it. Your IP address, your browser and any identifier of you or of your device are never recorded. The page carries a random number that only links its display time to its view, is never stored on your device and never links two pages together. Automated visits (search engines, robots) are recognised by the name they declare and counted apart.
- Your messages: if you write to us through the “Founders — get in touch” button or the address shown on the site, your email and the details it contains reach our mailboxes, and we use them only to answer you.
- Your display choices: the light or dark mode and the language you pick are kept in your browser’s local storage, and the fact that the opening animation has played is kept for the browsing session. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.
- The newsletter: if you subscribe from the footer of eqnx.vc or galaxy.eqnx.vc, we record your email address in our contact database, with the date, the site you subscribed from and the language of the page — the record of your consent. Your address is then added to the mailing list of our sending provider, Intuit Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time from any newsletter, or by writing to us.
3. Why we process it, and on what legal basis
- To run the site, secure it and investigate incidents — our legitimate interest in protecting our systems (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To measure the audience of the site, in anonymous statistics only (pages read, time spent, sources, countries) — our legitimate interest in knowing how our site is used, in order to improve it (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To answer your messages — our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To send you the newsletter — your consent, given when you subscribe (article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.
The site uses no advertising and no third-party audience tool, and no decision producing legal effects concerning you is taken solely by automated means.
4. Who receives it
- Authorised members of the EQNX team, for the purposes above.
- OVH (OVH SAS, France), which hosts the site and its server.
- Google (Google Workspace), which hosts our mailboxes and therefore the messages you send us.
- Intuit Mailchimp, which sends the newsletter: your email address.
- Our advisers and the competent authorities, where the law requires it.
Your data is neither sold nor used for advertising.
Our providers process this data on our behalf and on our instructions, under data processing agreements (article 28 GDPR) that form part of their terms.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
The site is hosted by OVH in France.
Google and Intuit Mailchimp may process data outside the European Economic Area, notably in the United States.
Each of these transfers relies on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for the providers certified under it, such as Google, or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, included in the providers’ data processing terms.
6. How long we keep it
- Connection data of the web server: 13 months.
- Audience measurement: 13 months, then deleted.
- Your messages: for as long as needed to answer you and to follow up our relationship.
- The newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Your display choices: until you clear your browser’s storage.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict its processing, to object to it, to receive it in a portable format, and to give instructions on what happens to it after your death.
To exercise these rights, write to investors@eqnx.vc or by post to EQNX SAS, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France. We answer within one month.
If you think your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL): www.cnil.fr
8. Cookies and local storage
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser; local storage is a similar space, which a website’s scripts can read.
This site sets no cookie, and loads no third-party script, font or image: everything it displays is served by our own server. Its audience measurement uses no cookie and stores nothing on your device (section 2); on the home page it also records, still anonymously, the deepest section you reached (About, Portfolio, Team or Contact). This is why it shows no cookie banner.
Members of the EQNX team who sign in to our internal tools receive from those tools a technical cookie (eqnx_equipe), valid on our domains for 30 days and removed when they sign out. It identifies no one; it only lets our sites leave the team’s own visits out of the audience statistics. Visitors never receive it. It keeps your display choices in your browser’s local storage (section 2).
The sites you may reach through its links (portfolio companies, LinkedIn, the EQNX LP Portal) apply their own cookies and privacy policies.
9. Changes
